Common questions & answers
- How is my child's goal determined? Each student's point goal is set based on the results of their most recent STAR reading test. With 35 minutes of reading per day, your child should be successful. However, the comprehension goal is VERY important. We would love to see every child in the building to show they are comprehending 85% of what they are reading.
- Can I see my child's STAR test results? Students are tested each quarter. If you would like the results so that you know where to work with your child at home, please contact your child's teacher or me so that we can send you the report. My email is [email protected]
- What is the purpose of Accelerated Reader? This program is designed to be a tool or resource, NOT a punishment or reward. We can look at their strengths and weaknesses to help us find ways to instruct them and help them find books that will help them be successful in becoming better readers.
